The Locke Family Association is pleased to announce that we will center our 136th reunion at Pawtuckaway State Park, near Raymond, New Hampshire. We have booked the large pavilion for our exclusive use on Saturday, August 1. Come join us for activities, both organized and disorganized, all Saturday afternoon and evening. The park also offers hiking to an extensive marsh or the mountaintop fire tower, boat rentals, both canoes and kayaks, and a 700-foot sand beach. For those who enjoy camping, Pawtuckaway State Park offers cabin rentals, tent campsites, and spots for pop-up campers and RVs (no hookups). If you are interested in this option, you should book now! As of March 29th, there is *one* cabin still available. |
136th Annual Reunion Activities
We have planned two fun-filled excursions for the reunion that you can book now!
Seats are limited!
|
Friday, July 31 - 1:00 p.m.
Can you imagine sailing where our Locke ancestors sailed?? This is your chance to experience an excursion on the Piscatagua River.
Lockes lived alongside this same river for centuries. Enjoy a sail aboard a traditional reproduction of the flat-bottom gundalow barges that were once prevalent along local waterways. |
Sunday, August 2 - 10:00 a.m.
This historic trolley tour has become a fascinating and exciting way
to see important Locke sites and landmarks. We will loop through Rye for a drive-by of historic Locke houses and visit the site of Fort William and Mary where the Revolution really started! The tour will include the story of this intriguing moment in history and the personal involvement of one of our ancestors. A great history lesson that can speak to every Locke, no matter their age. |

The 134th Annual Meeting at Lowell, MA is over.
The Locke Family has held a reunion every year since 1891!
We even met through two world wars and the Covid-19 pandemic. In the 2000's we expanded this annual family gathering to a three-day event.

Locke Connections to Raymond, NH
The Locke family is represented in the 3rd generation of settlers in Raymond.
We know of two families who settled there. John Locke F660 was born in Chester, NH in 1765. Three of his children settled in Raymond: Sarah #2297, Abigail #2298, and John, Jr. #2302. John Jr. was the postmaster in Raymond from 1869 until his death there in 1872.
Samuel Locke F1509 was born in Brentwood in 1803 and moved to Raymond where two of his children were born, Isaiah #3731 and Samuel #3732.
