Membership

Joining Us

The Locke Family Association is primarily for the descendents of Capt. John Locke, but also include descendants of John's brother Nathaniel and William Locke of Woburn. We also encourage historians and researchers to join who are interested in local or genealogical history. We have an international membership with cousins from four countries.

We presently have over four volumes of information about the Capt. John Locke line. If you are looking for your Locke family descendents but are not sure what family line you fall under, contact us and we will do our best to help you figure that out. We may be able to pair you up in a family tree if you know your lineage back a few generations. It is always exciting for us to find another long lost cousin.

Newsletter

We publish a quarterly newsletter to keep members informed on Association activities, reunion announcements, and of interesting stories about the lives of Locke descendants, past and present. Members are encouraged to contribute their interesting finds or favorite stories about their Locke ancestors or present day cousins. In 1993 the newsletter was named Sickle and Sword after the two remaining artifacts that belonged to Capt. Locke and are now at the New Hampshire Historical Society. The newsletter is available with membership.

Membership Dues

Our membership dues help to keep the Association going. The small amount requested barely covers the expenses that we incur each year and most of the work in the Association is done by fantastic volunteers who contribute their time and effort as a labor of love. The membership dues are:

  • Basic Annual Membership: US$10
  • Sustaining Annual Membership: US$50
A Sustaining Member is someone who wants to support the existence and operation of the Association in a significant way. Most often this person wishes that they could be more involved in the reunions and projects of the Association but cannot for many reasons.
  • Lifetime Membership: US$200
A Lifetime Member is someone who has jumped in with both feet to ensure that the Association will survive forever.

Please send your membership dues to the LFA Treasurer:
